I finally decided to register instead of just lurking around reading. I have beenin the WI Guard since 2001, 32nd SIB (L).
I enlisted at 17 and attended Basic/AIT at Ft. Benning A/1/50 and C/1/19 as an 11B. I reclassed in 2003 as 27D, then started ROTC at UW-Whitewater in WI. I decided to go back to the Infantry and become a Platoon Leader; back to where I started. In Nov 2004 I attented Airborne school. I recently completed IOBC early this month. My PLT had the best students and instructors, in my opinioin. I am currently working to attend PRC in January and Ranger school but I've had some trouble with that since my unit is down range. I am just looking to learn more from reading others experiences, this board is a great asset to all.

First off - you got some nerve trying to join this as a ARNG butter bar what hasn't been to skool yet, BUT ya gotta have some nerve to try being a Ranger so don't stop.
Second off - Do as the others have told you already
Third off - If you are back here in WI, try practicing for skool by going out to a deerstand this Friday with just the clothes on yer back, NO FOOD, no camping gear, and sit out there until late Sunday nite. DON'T SLEEP!! If it rains, so much the better, stay out there. While sitting out there, pull a poncho over your head on the second nite about three am, and write some five paragraph op orders with all appendices by red filtered flashlite.
For a little variety, go swimming/wading in the Wisconsin River this weekend around two am, but don't show any lites!
If you like it, repeat every weekend until the river freezes.
If you don't get it, I have 150 acres in NW WI where we can practice a little.
Oh, and do not use a GPS either.
