HALO School - Tonight on Discovery

Postby Leatherneck » February 27th, 2004, 4:06 am

Tonight airing again at 2300 is a Discovery Channel special on the military free fall school. I've just finished watching the first airing, and it was excellent.

Is there more than 1 part. That is all I saw. Just until their first jump and then it was over.

Cool though, I saw one of my old privates on the show going through the School.

I caught a glimpse of one of the guys that used to me in my Plt on there as an instructor.

During the second segment, after an instructor had a malfunction and was killed, he had a chute and waa explaining what they think occurred. SSgt (then Spc-4) Nugent. Good to see he's still in and driving on.

I thought it was cool to see how close the instructors work with them on the freefall, controlling them if they are spinning and staying in that spot watching to make sure they pull.

Did they give the name of the insructor that was killed, was it up in Marana when it happened. OK so this is like the once every 2 months or so that I wish I had cable.
