Indian-Pakistani war

Post by DJB »

These are some very interesting reads on the 20 year war of attrition in the Himalayas.

“Ninety-seven per cent of casualties here are due to the extreme weather and altitude, rather than fighting. On the glacier you have to first survive the elements and then you fight the enemy.â€

Sooooo,

In other words, what your saying is level the mountains with ARCLIGHT missions and fight the remainder at sea level?

Given a choice between Nitrogen Narcosis or Pulmunary Edema, I'll just stay @GL and enjoy my beer, thank you.

Good stuff Kidney. I'll have to take that shit with me to PA school next month. Have you ever read Into thin Air by Jon Krakow? There's alot of high altitude death in that book.

Nope haven’t read it, but thanks for the recommendation. If you are headed to the military PA school at Ft.Sam give me a PM when you get in town and We'll have you over for dinner.

I thought that this thread would be a photo memorial for Gordo. I'm not sure which side of the war he was on, though, but I know he can whip up some curry chicken like a motherfucker.
“It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way.”
