Hello all,

My name is Will and i am 16 years of age. After High School i plan on joining the Army and Signing up for the 75th Ranger RGT. It is my main goal in life to become a Ranger. I would like to know how physically and mentally ready i need to be to become a Ranger. If possible i would like to talk one on one with a Ranger on here or through Aim. My screen name on aim is "willisallah" Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Hopefully one of the DEPs can engage you on AIM and get you started. Most of the information you need is on the site already. Use the lil' button at the top that says 'search' and enter such terms as 'fitness', 'PT', etc....

Use a little initiative. First lesson.

Will,

This should have been in the intro section, but no biggie.

Rangering, like anything else, is 90% mental, 10% physical, in my opinion. Not saying you can be a lump of crap and make it through, but if you are mentally tough, it will pull your body through.

Seeing as how you are sixteen, I would search this site like you are doing, but also I would READ. Read anything and everything you can get your hands on......especially military history and things like "Charlie Rangers" and all the other books on Vietnam Rangers and LRRPs.

Start a PT program.

Welcome to the site.....

Oh yeah...Iming with other guys is straight up GAY........now unless ya put your sister on, you aren't going to get many Rangers wanting to IM with you.

Do some research, if ya can't find an answer to your question, ask it here in the appropriate forum.

EDIT: Spartan types faster then me......

As far as the Psychic part, being able to bend spoons with your mind would help, as far as metal it would be somewhere between copper and aluminum. LEARN TO PROOFREAD and then work on spelling.

High-Caliber welcome to the site. I am a "DEPshit" here. I am fairly new to the site but I have learned a little bit by searching the forums for anwsers. Just about any anwser you can think of has already been asked, you just have to search for the anwser. Also pay attention to every detail of your posts you do not want to have any grammer mistakes in them. On another note when addressing a Ranger do not use their just their username. For example if you are writing a post to wm311 use Ranger wm311 instead. They are mean, but only if you mess up. They will help you out if you do decided to go out for the Rangers. Take their advice seriously because they have gone through Ranger School and they know what it takes to be a Ranger.

The Rangers here aren't mean, they are fair.

I wrote it wrong I apologize for my mistake. I mean they will have your ass if you mess up. They are just trying to help those of us that are actually getting ready to go off for training to have as much knowledge as possible so that we may succed. But also in order to succed we need to give everything we do in training 110% of our effort.

Krazyflip-

You probably need to take your name off of that post. A couple of DEPs have done this before. 8)

High-Caliper,

I noticed your quoted saying on bottom of your post:

"Only the dead have seen the end of war"

My question is why haven't you given the speaker of the quote credit. I am sure I saw that quote in a recent movie and I believe it was said by Plato. Please insert his name with your quote. He said and earned the right to be credited with the quote.

It was Plato. Now Steadfast: have you been watching X-Rated Bob Guccione version of Caligula again?
