I'm a SPC in the United States Army National Guard.
I joined the Army in May of '02, 1/128 (INF) of the WIARNG, picking the split-option, to be back in time for my senior year of high school. 10 days later I shipped to basic training at Ft. Benning, GA, a a part of F 2/58. The summer of '03 I shipped back for my AIT, and graduate with A 2/54.
This past summer in '04 I was mobilized at Camp Shelby, MS as a part of the 278th RCT, in preperation of OIF III. We got overseas the end '04. In mid February the vehicle I was in was hit with a RPG-9, ending my stay in Iraq. I'm now taking on the task of intense Physical Therapy (someone tried to tell me I couldn't get back to Iraq, they're about to be proven wrong), I was lucky enough to keep my foot, and am now trying to get back to deployable status.
I know the NG usually gets a bad rap, for some of the people that join, but I'm still going to go ahead and say that after the healing process is done, I do still intend to try and get a slot into Ranger School. It's been an ambition of mine, since I learned of the Rangers, and I use it as motivation in my therapy.
So hello to all the Rangers here, and everyone else, I hope I am welcome here, and hope to learn as much as possible.

Welcome aboard Soldier. Glad as hell to have ya. We like Warriors here.
I do hope the rehab is going well. And with your mindset I'm sure Ranger School will happen soon. There's many fine NG units out there and not one of us look down on em.
You are in Ranger country and we honor those that serve.

Welcome. And keep up the phys. therapy. It sounds like the only one that could say you cant, would be you. Keep the possitive attitude and prove them wrong!
