Ranger school without RIP???

There have been a few guys in the past year that have gone through RIP that have already completed Ranger school. They are allowed to wear their tabs while in RIP.

Is that kinda pointless? Make you go throug RIP even though your tabbed or is it just the paper trail that has to be shown for the qualification ?

No, it isn't pointless. Just because you have earned your tab doesn't mean that you have what it takes to make it in Ranger Battalion. Everyone who is assigned to the 75th Ranger Regt. go through either ROP or RIP regardless of if they have a tab or not.

Ok thanks for the clearification on that Ranger but if you made it through Ranger school wouldn't that tell the RI's that you can hang in RIP like easy or something
