Welcome, you should find most of the info you need here and if not, then someone here should be able to provide it for you. You are doing a great thing.

Welcome to the board.

If you want to be a Ranger, serving in a Ranger Battalion, do not...I repeat...DO NOT sign anything unless it has Option 40 on it. You'll never see a Ranger Battalion without it.

Thanks again for your kind welcoming.

It seems I have possibly offended a gentleman in USAREC by telling him that I will only sign an option 40 and if I don't qual for the sec. clearance than I will get my affairs in order first and then retry. Is this how you can expect to be treated trying to get this sacred option 40? If so, I want it that much more.

You know, that seems to be the vibe I am now getting from him; panic. At first I figured, hey he is just trying to counsel me into getting where I want to go eventually. Now it seems he is just trying to pad his stats. Nothing against the 82nd either; I just don't have the wish to get sent to Iraq with any other unit but the 75th.
