Well - I am glad that although you may be pissed about not getting through the first time that you are still determined to get to the Regiment Weidert. I had hoped you'd come back here and let us know what happened to you.

Learn all you can and continue to push yourself, even if your first line supervisor does not push you that hard where you are.

You aren't the first man that's been a pushup stud and had trouble with that damn pushup test.

Drive on Soldier. You'll get there if you really want to.

Keep with it! My first time through RIP I had a minute and 15 seconds of "41, 41, 41,41" . It can be frusterating, but it just made me that much more determined that I had no problems the second time through.

Oh yea...no really...they are. Like when you do pushup's in a foot of cold frozen over water and your hands sink 6 inches in the mud....definatly worth the mysery becaue you get a floating effect when your face goes under.

A little bit of advice for you...

GET your EIB. KNOW the shit inside and out, so well you are confident when you do it, and totally in control.

Then IMMEDIATELY go get a Ranger physical done.

That way you look like a stud, act like a stud, take the initiative and get and keep a current physical.
When a slot opens up, your gone, because all your peers don't now what they need to do to get a Ranger physical done, it takes time sometimes...
And while they are dicking around trying to get an appointment and waiting on lab results, your one a flight to Hooah School...

I just saw this post Weidert, but I'm glad to hear everything is going well at the 82nd.

I went through OSUT, Airborne hold, Airborne, and RIP hold with Weidart, and was pretty pissed off when I heard he failed the PT test. Weidart was definitely one the harder workers and if I ever needed help with shit he was one of the first people I went to. There are a lot of people that try to shitbag around and get out of doing work, but Weidart was one of those guys that you always saw chipping in cleaning or doing whatever needed to be done.

Anyway, I just thought that should be said.
