DA missions.

Post by cbiwv »

I'm lead to believe that the Regiment is the best SOF as far as direct action type missions. Would I be correct?

Working for the Department of the Army (DA) is more of an assignment than a mission....

Does that mean that on some SOG site you posted this statement?
I'm lead to believe that the SF is the best SOF as far as direct action type missions
Don't forget the Force Recon and SEAL sites................. :|

No sir. I did not pose my question openly to him on some forum.

Well, it depends. What size element? Serpetitous entry? They're the only unit in USASOC that can field a regimental size element and pack more firepower than any other unit. In a strict, traditional sense of "DA" I would say yes. But DA is a mixed bag to include unilateral, 50/50 US & host nation or Host nation with combat advisors. Clarify your question and you'll get a more accurate answer. For the record, DA is probably the easiest mission to set clear standards for, adivse, equip and train for in the whole SOF LOO.

Well, theres no point diving into the who's better than who b.s.

BUT, I can tell you that Rangers are doing the majority of the real world DA missions today.

Take from that what you want. But again, "whos better than who" at anything or in general is a stupid and endless ring around the rosie discussion, on internet forums atleast.

For further research on this issue, I would refer you to this link:
