Based upon clips I have watched he misspoke too many times on different occasions...Viet Nam POSER. Additionally he has claimed that he was spat upon when he came back. In addition he denies he applied for all five different deferments that he received and further stating that his draft board did some on their own. You had to apply to receive a deferment.

His final draft dodge was to join the Marine Corp Reserve when he ran out of deferments. When I left my active service the ranks of the Reserve Unit I joined had 95%+ it's of personnel that had exhausted their college deferments and had joined the reserves to make sure they could not be drafted. They admitted that they were in the reserve to avoid being drafted and for no other reason.

From our friends at the NY Times:

Candidate’s Words on Vietnam Service Differ From History
By RAYMOND HERNANDEZ
At a ceremony honoring veterans and senior citizens who sent presents to soldiers overseas, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut rose and spoke of an earlier time in his life.

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. “And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.”

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records.

Draft dodger and poser, pure and simple. A "brilliant" lawyer like him, does not make repeated "miss-statements" about the same thing unless he intends to make them.

He also claimed to have been the captain of the Harvard swim team. Harvard says no. Probably just a simple mistake. It would be pretty hard to remember all these years whether or not you were captain of the swim team. Probably can't even swim.

Misspoke vs. Lied

Misspoke- "Sorry for asking if your wife was pregnant. I didn't realize she's just enormous."

Lied- "Yes, I served in Vietnam. We used to do our weekend drills there."

This is why people my age stopped voting. he obviosly did not make a mistake but an told an intentional lie, and he has the audacity to stand in front of the American People and insult our intelligence by trying to feed us an even bigger pile of horse dung. Even if it was an honest mistake I still wouldnt vote for him. As a Senator he might get all "confused" again and think he's the President, claiming executive privilege and whatnot.

Remember that the Democrat party is the party of lawyers. Every single Democrat with any power is a lawyer. They all think like lawyers, which means there is no right or wrong, only an ends to justify their means.
