OK I'll ask I've been trying to figure it out... but who is Joshua;

I feel like I should know the answer but I'll be honest I don't and I'm sure I'm going to pay for admitting this.

No worries already headed on my way to the kitchen to make you all samiches*

Hhhmmm... Ranger Invictus... "what if" books? You got my attention with that. :wink: Are these listed on the military books thread that is going?

Best;
Shana
It's not listed in that thread, just a book I picked up at B&N many moons ago.
It's a very interesting book that looks at a number of different scenario's and talks about how easily the outcome could have been different.

The book is called...err...WHAT IF

There's also a sequel called "WHAT IF 2".

Another really interesting book (to me at least) is a historical fiction on Gettysburg. This is the 3 part series co-authored by Gingrich. While fictitious, it's still pretty amazing to me what might have been had Lee fallen back that first day, and found much more defensible ground not far away (the availability and proximity of such ground is covered in detail in the book) and set himself up in a Marye's Heights typed defensive position.

"What if" is the standby study statement of great military events. Saw a paper on "What if's" for Nazi Germany. Really eye opening. What if Hitler had waited 3 years to begin his attempt to to take over the world?
Its great theory, study, and in my mind confirms some things biblically. GRITS didnt want Germany to be in charge. There was a paper on Korea as well. What if the US had maintained a state of readiness after WWII? Would we now occupy China?
