Shit happens... I guess

Post by Table of Elements Skater »

Rangers, Deps, and everyone else,

I did not ship on July 11th like I was supposed to. It all started about a month ago. I started getting back pains out of no where. I went to a doctor who then sent me to another doctor for x-rays. Had them taken and it turns out I have Scheuermann's kyphosis. I told my recruiter, he got the x-rays and sent them up to MEPS. He got a letter back, on the 10th which was the day when I was supposed to go to MEPS, stating That a wavier is not recommended, and that I am permanently disqualified from any branch of service ever. Talk about a major life curve ball.

Rangers and to my mentors specifically, Don’t feel like you wasted your time. You definitely haven’t, Im better & stronger both mentally and physically because of You.

There’s nothing more I wanted than being able to serve my country. Now I have no idea, what I want or what im going to do. This sucks. Im driving on and trying to staying strong.

Thanks,
T.O.E.S.

T.O.E.S., I know you must be disappointed -- just don't get discouraged. You have done a superb job of preparing yourself for your future. Please continue your journey in a new direction.

Go to college, use your brain and become a productive member of society. Be grateful of those who serve and be a good citizen.

I have no idea what to say other than I am so sorry to hear this. Keep your head up and drive on, you can go to college or you can find something else to be just as passionate for.

Have you thought of finding out if this would hamper any chances as a LEO? There are many ways to serve your country and if that's what you want to do then I am sure you will find a way.

Good luck and I hope all goes well for you in the future.

Damn, that sucks TOES! Don't let yourself get discourged.

I've read plenty of your posts, you seem to be sharper than a lot of the DEPs on the site. I agree with tw5270. Go to college, then become an analyst. The 3-letter agencies need more bright-personnel. If you do, just remember, you are performing the analysis because there IS somebody who needs to know. (Just don't confuse this with everyone needs to know.)

If you go this route, I'd recommend International Relations, rather than PoliSci, then pick a consistent trouble spot as your focus of study. Feel free to PM me about this stuff, TOES.

Looks like someone's got some different plans for you man. Just remember the DQ'd you to keep you from getting permanently injured or killed. It's for your own good.

Like it's been said before, focus your energy into a different agency. There's got to be something else you're passionate about.

Now move out and do great things.
