DEP's READ: First Report from Lost Thing

I received this shocking report two days ago:

Ranger EarthPig,

This is Lost Thing. I'm in Hold, and scheduled to ship downrange on 19 May. Hold is pretty boring, but it's had some interesting moments. The good thing is there is ALOT of time to do PT on your own. I knock out random sets of 20 wide pushups, 30 situps, etc. Plus, I get together with a few guys here in the bay, and we do extra PT. A note to the DEPs, you can eat whatever and as much as you want here in Hold.....but don't.

I met up with Nauschalk. I'm sorry to report it, but he is wanting out of the Army. He came into the bay (he is across the hall) naked, and started screaming that he wanted to quit. I forgot to mention that he was wearing his green beanie cover. He also had cut his wrist. Another recruit and I took him downstairs to a DS. He then proceeded to continue slashing and biting his wrists. He also started beating off! No, I'm not making this up! The DS instructed the other recruits and I to get another DS. Upon returning with another DS, we saw that he had written "Fuck the Army" in blood on the floor, and was climbing up the backside of the stairs, still naked. The DS instructed us to block his path on the stairwell, and then two other DS's arrived. They were eventually able to tie a bed sheet around him and escorted him outside. We heard the sirens, and figured he would be thrown out of the Army after that.

The next day, we saw him in Johnston Hall, handcuffed, and taken away by the MP's. We were told that he had tried to escape, and had also committed assault (on another recruit), while attempting to escape, before being tackled in the parking lot. He came back, though, and from what I was able to get from him, he has one more strike to go, before being sent home. I'm sure he'll do something else, by how he was talking. He has no intention at all of sticking it out. I tried talking to him initially, when he hinted around about quitting, but never expected him to go to this length. I figured he just missed home, his girlfriend, or something along those lines, and it would pass.

Well, it's about lights out, and I'm going to kncockout some more pushups before bed. I will write when I ship downrange.

Thanks for the report. You need to separate yourself from that fucking pussy ASAP! Don't talk to him, assist him, or stand near him. That little cunt needs a Ft. Levenworth cell as his new address. I'm ashamed that he was associated with this site, and am amazed that he thought he was 18X material. I'll update his title to reflect his 'code of honor.'

Focus on what you are there for. Listen to your DS's....they are trying to save your life. Good luck, and I look forward to more SITREPs.

I had a kid in my Plt when I went through Knox in '85 that took a whole bottle of aspirin. They pumped his stomach at the ER and it busted a bunch of blood vessels in his eyes and they turned black!
