Well done CDW, Take the advice of continuing a journal. You definately have the gift of writing, very articulate and concise. Your post brings back memories and should bring stark enlightment to the DEPs. You are understanding what we've all been saying all along and try to convey. It's about the sense of accomplishment and commitment required to belong to a brotherhood called the Ranger Regiment, these expierences will be the most profound in your life and you are correct that "you haven't done shit yet", but it just gets better. keep writing and save them.

CDW, you have the rare talent of putting thoughts & emotions into print. You are a Ranger. But you are also a writer. Think about writing a book about your time in the Regiment.

....and there it is. Plain and simple.

Great post Ranger, as the Sarnt Major said, you captured it. Doesn't matter if it was last week or 14 years ago, same same.

Keep up the good fight Brother, stay safe.

CDW, you are a very insightfull young man. You were able to put into words what many of us have experienced. I applaud your guts and determination. you have captured something hard to describe.

I remember walking the halls of C Co 2/75 as a young private knowing that great men have walked those halls. Men have celebrated Their promotions, smoked sense into future Ranger First Seargents, Special Forces Team Seargents and Unit Operators. They have admired the guts and ingenuity of Ranger privates. They have mourned the loss of close friends, raged at the injustice of political inaction and most of all "become" Rangers in those halls. Those and every other hall of every other Ranger Battalion.

Only those that have shouldered the enormous responsibility of upholding the Ranger tradition will ever truly understand. You, my young Ranger buddy, have exemplified the shouldering of that burden through your words in this post and my hat is off to you.
