Good or Bad

Post by mroush »

I just received a letter from my husband and it said: My patrol last night was one of the best recon's I've ever seen, according to the RI. That was until we had a break in contact on the roach march back. So I think that is going to be a NOGO. I'm bummed because there was nothing that I could do about it.

My question for the Rangers: Is it going to be a NOGO? I would assume yes because he was the one in leadership, but I am hoping for the best. If it was one of the best like he said will they take that into consideration?

Thank you!

He is not the one that fell out. Thank you! I feel better knowing this for myself. I was surprised that the RI would say that to him and boost his confidence like that!

NOGO or not, just support him and tell him he can recycle EVERY phase, as long as he NEVER QUITS.

That's the most important thing.

Great news! My husband made it thru Darby! He had his 8 hour pass yesterday and looked horrible, all he did was eat! He is headed up to Mountains ready to kick ass! Hopefully come Christmas he will be a Mountain warrior! Thank you all for your comments!

Heh. Just wait until you get your first letter during mountains that says "I was eval'd for occupying a patrol base and everything went to shit." It's bound to happen at some point.

I was the PSG for the same eval and the PL decided to lay our perimeter in on a bunch of beehives he somehow missed during the recon. Needless to say we spent the better portion of midnight to 3:30am just trying to get security set up (when we were "tactfully instructed" to get our woobies and get back to back in the center of the PB for admin sleep). RI told me I got a go because I was consistently doing the right thing despite circumstances outside of my control. PL bitched out and I was doing his job too, which he noted as a plus.
