Young Nicholas you should reign in your drive to post. You would do well to stop flooding the boards and read!

Ahhh, the word our esteemed Brother speaks come straight from the Book of The Yellow River, My Son.

A soft answer turneth away wrath but a direct answer answereth the fucking question.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

Re: Careers

What is a great career for a soldier? Anything that deals with leadership. Most Rangers and servicemen are NCOs by the time they get out.

Why not use their leadership experience from the Army to get a great job as a supervisor.

Employers are dying for good leaders and many NCOs these days have at least 2 or more years in leadership roles.

Also, if nothing appeals to them start you're own bussiness and do what you love. It's easier than people think.

Job Skill: Project Management

Post by Torker »

Some of you might want to consider developing skill sets or careers in project management. It is a natural fit with your experience : leading high-performance teams, creating operational plans and following them through to execution, being able to think on your feet under stress and dynamically changing conditions, keeping a focus on the mission deliverables.
Project Management applies in any domain.

Certifications for Project Managment Professionals (PMP) are possible, based on a computerized multiple choice exam after satisfactional of certain professional and educational requirements.
http://www.pmi.org has the details. Look for a chapter in your area.

The material is not too difficult to master and should come naturally. The PMP is well respected and can be a leg up on a CV. Experience you already have could count for the PMP requirements.
Check it out.
