If you can't do it in your hole, then your hole is too small. #1 key factor for your hide: It's got to be comfortable. Never get out of your subsurface if you can help it. Obviously commo windows and recamo are exempt. Piss bottles and crapbags are a must.

To expand on Ranger MindRiot's observation... keep a low profile on a ridgeline or hillcrest.
