I go to the recruiters office on Tuesday. I wanted to learn all the information i needed before i went.I've always had it in my heart to attempt this-there is no better time than the present. If i qualify and get the 68w Option 40 then i will sign asap. I was told to know all my information first before i went to a recruiter. With all due respect- How is my answer superficial? I'm in Emergency Medicine because i genuinely want to help people. I like that it's fast paced(most of the time),your often under pressure, you have to think quickly and make accurate assessments, provide quality treatment, etc. I'll post back once i talk to the recruiter on Tuesday.

Thanks again Rangers!

So what part of the Medical field are you excelling at? What real world experience do you have? Aren't you in school?

Ranger Zone IV,
Every EMS/Paramedic student is required to do hospital clinical's. I'm currently an EMT-B working towards my Paramedic degree. I am currently in school sir. My experience has been working in a busy hospital ER. I have received very positive feedback from my peers, Instructors and hospital staff. I want this more than anything.

We've all heard this before. Talk is cheap. Your actions will speak for you. Let us know how your trip to the recruiter's office shakes out.

Rangers, I apologize for my delay in giving an update. Since my introduction I've been overwhelmed with homework and family life, although I'm still pursuing the Option 40. A friend of the family who is a Ranger is working with me. I return to the recruiters to fill out paperwork on friday. After that (I'll refer to him as RangerBrad) is going with me to the recruiters to make sure I don't get screwed. He actually demanded he go with me and talk with the recruiter. If you need to verify that I'm actually working with a legitimate Ranger I can PM you his name. Again, I sincerely apologize for my lack of update. I've been training just as hard as ever, along with studying Ranger history and the Ranger creed. Thanks for all the valuable information and help that you offer.

No need to verify to us who you are working with- it's your future, and if we have to question your credibility then you don't deserve to be here. It is outstanding if you have a Ranger personally squaring you away and looking out for you- that means a lot and I'm sure no one needs to tell you to make the most of the knowledge and guidance he can provide; few candidates are as fortunate as you.

FarBeyondDriven,

Hopefully you've read and re-read the posts on this forum because if you had, you would realize you are safe to enlist as a 68W opt 4. Although there are 68W option 40 contracts out there I believe there are only 10 a year. You would be safe to enlist with an option 4 and then fill out the Ranger Medic application which would then be submitted to the S1 at Ft. Sam Houston. If that fails, you could always talk to the regiment recruiter at Ft. Benning when you show up for airborne.

He has been here six months and has not enlisted.
