Son At RASP

Post by RIGGIT700 »

Mike here and my wife Mindy, our son just completed Cole Range. We are the proud parents of three children, two of whom are soldiers. Our daughter is an Intel Analyst with the NYARNG and a veteran of Afghanistan and as I said our son just completed Cole Range. I have always had the utmost respect for you Rangers and it grows everyday. Best of luck to class 03-14 and thank you all you Rangers for your service. RLTW!!!

Welcome. The 1SG in charge of RASP is a friend of mine, and suffice it to say he is in VERY capable hands. The cadre definitely won't let him squeak by. When he finally gets his Tan Beret, you can rest assured that he will have earned every bit of it.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. ManchuV, I am not Wyatt, my name is Mike and my son is at RASP, I believe he is in Wyatt's class. I am so very proud of him, I am in awe of what he has accomplished so far. He was originally supposed to leave for basic on an Option 40 contract in August of 2012 but he tore his ACL playing Lacrosse right before he graduated high school, the Army told him he would have to wait a year after surgery and then come back, he lost his contract but he worked hard at rehabbing after his surgery and worked construction for a year and then went back and was fortunate enough to get another option 40 contract. I tried to get him to go in as a 13F but he had his heart set on 11B and the day I pinned that blue cord on him was one of the proudest days of my life. He and my daughter pinned my E-7 rank on me many years ago and in the past year I pinned on his blue cord and Sgt stripes on my daughter (velcro not pins) I cannot wait to see him don his tan beret. Won't be long now.
