Hello all,
My first unit was 2nd Platoon B 3/75. My Squad leader at the time was SSG Gibblin (I might be wrong with the spelling). My Team Leader was Sgt Saunders. I did not stay long with Bn. I was there for about six month. I terminated. I am not going to make any excuses on why I did. I want to put that out first. This was back in '86. During my time after Bn, I got to serve with other units, but there was always something eating at me to get my tab, I was worried about swimming. Coming from NYC, I never learned to swim with my clothes on. The local YMCA only taught me how to swim with trunks. Swimming with boots and gear was new to me when I went to RIP (I was classified as a weak swimmer), but when I was at Ft. Ord, there was a 1Lt who trained me in swimming. I went to Ranger School, after graduating the Combat Leaders Course at Ft. Ord, and graduated (2-93). I am now retired, and I am enjoying my time with my family.
