Oakley Assault Boots

Post by Parabellum »

Yes Oakley actually makes a boot. It is the shit. I highly recommend them, just not for patrolling through the woods. The are hot and hold water but for quick raids and urban assault missions they are the ticket. They are just as durable if not more than the GSG-9. You don't get that smashed feeling in your feet like you do with the good old JB. I believe that we are going to get issued 2 pairs here in the future one desert color and the other black. Most guys now do have a pair. Oakley gives Regt. half off so they are between 60-70 bucks.

Yep we can wear civilian boots now. They have to be brown or black.

They are also being issued to SF units.

Before last trip to Afghanistan we got Lowas, and this year they're giving out Desert Oakleys.

The general feeling seems to be that the Oakleys are a much better boot.

The Oakley SI boots are kick ass. Best boots I ever owned.

You can't use Oakley boots for jump school. Only Army issued boots are allowed. The only soldiers aloud to wear them is SF or Ranger. I highly doubt that they will let you wear them in SFAS.

SFAS won't let you wear them either. They have to be standard issued boots. Though you can use modified soles.

Buddy of mine on the team, has a pair of these; and they seem to be falling apart on him. However, it could be a lack of care.

I think alot of us expect other boots to hold up like j-boots, but we cannot wear them through all terrain/weather.

I'm with my old buddy Ranger H8, you can't beat a good pair of j-boots. Last ya twice as long, cost you half as much, and their great for stomping queers.

Any justification for the $230 price tag? I would like to try a pair out but damn that's kinda pricey. I wish I could still get in on that Regiment discount. That's cool Regiment is finally relaxing on uniforms and letting you guys get what you need.

Oakley Boots

Post by Smoke »

Ranger another damn texan,

Oakley has a Military/Government sales program. I have been ordering sunglasses for the Officers I work with since late Oct 04. For info PM me.
I want to order the boots but I'm not sure if I can fill a min order. SI boots are 90+S&H and the boots you can jump in are 125+ S&H.

The poop from the shooting industry is the Oakleys are great for range work..and cruising the mall or light hiking. They are a vast improvement over "cruit" boots, but I doubt they will hold up for the long haul through hard use.

I have had a pair that I have been wearing for the past four months. They do not have the support for hard use that say Danner or Lowa boots do. And a biggey...they don't have Goretex liners.
