First off I would like to pay my respect to the Rangers assiting on this site.
My name is Ray, I enlisted in the USN Jan 05. I served aboard the USS Kearsarge out of Norfolk, Va till Jan 2009. I took part in many missions in the gulf as well as central and south America. I was Honorably Discharged and began civillian life attending college. I recently decided to join the Army and enlisted as 11B at my dad's command in San Antonio. My dad is CSM H. He is a great soldier and a inspiration for myself and many others. My sister served as a Captain in the army. My brother in law was a Ranger out of Ft. Bragg. Both my granpa's fought in world war 2. I intend to continue serving and I decided to finally go after something that has always been in the back of my mind, the coveted Ranger tag.
I leave for basic feb 22 2011. I am currently only contracted for 11B, but I am eager to apply for BAC and RS.
Again I thank everyone for their assistance and great input I have already seen on this site.

Just wanted to add that I made a personal best today and it was no bull shit thakns to this forum. I felt motivated after reading some run and school posts. I did my 5 mile in 37:50. Just decided to tell my body I'm not going to quit and focused. Really found my motivation. Just thought I would say thanks to ya'll Rangers for your anecdotes and tips. Can't wait to join y'all's ranks.
