Intro For Yet Another Air Force Ranger Wannabe

Post by Raven_XXXX »

For the last week or so (since I found this site via Military.com) I have been reading the numerous posts on this site and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every post here. Reading the posts here I understand that it is a must that each person who wishes to contribute to this board introduce himself here. That being the case, here is my attempt to fulfill the requirements of this board… (also, I must first apologize for the length of this post but I didn’t want to leave anything out)

I had just started my fourth year at California State University, Chico when the terror attacks of 11 September occurred. I, like most red-blooded Americans, was deeply affected by these attacks. I was not related to anybody who was a victim, nor did I know anybody who was involved yet nonetheless this was quite possibly the most significant experience of my life up to this point. The background is as follows… My Step-Father attended the US Naval Academy and spent thirty years as a Naval Aviator, finally to retire a couple of years ago as an O-6. Needless to say, during the time I lived at home, I had lots of “motivationâ€

Airborne Ravens

Post by Raven_XXXX »

Angrypistols,

Unlike Rangers, it is not a prerequisite for a Raven to be airborne qualified, but many Ravens do have their jump wings (most who do are 5 jump-chumps though). I have not attended jump school, but we are expected to attend such courses as SERE (long course), Dynamics of International Terrorism, South American Orientaion Course, Middle Easrten Orientation Course, EMT school, ect.

Raven_XXXX,

Thanks for the info. I remember seeing photos of USAF Ravens in a C-141 and wondered if they were Airborne.

Thanks,

Angry
