It feels like I am finally home again. I see many like minded folks here, who like me, want to keep the "wolf off the doorstep". I remember pissing off my friends growing up because most of my heroes had blue ribbons around their necks or just over came odds that would have felled a lesser person. No matter there background.

It makes all the bad jumps, long road marches, sleeping in swamps, bugs, weather....... all worth it in the end.

Thanks for welcoming me aboard!

1st rounds on me when I get stateside. And after I retire, ya'll can come visit me: I'll be either in Sweden teaching English at an all-girls college or maybe coaching a Brazilian women's volleyball team. Hey, gotta use that instructor identifier fer s'umthing. 8)

Welcome. You will definitely find like minded people here. Good on ya for keeping the faith.
For retirement choices, might I be so bold as to reccomend Iceland? Before you scoff, know this; there is a NATO base there, the beer is 7% or better, every town has geothermal hot springs and the winters are actually mild (No worse than New England..) Oh, did I also mention that all of the women there look like fuckin' norse supermodels?..

I knew Iceland was on point!

Post by trazel187 »

The squares around here don't believe me! I read it in Details (yecck!) years ago and Maxim.
I dated a girl from Iceland when I was stationed in Utah in the 90s. I caught hell from the local 'fauna'. It looked like Seal and Heidi Klum walking around there. Man, I never saw so much envy.
But I will get my MAC flight ready...you know what? To hell with that, I'm going 1st class!
Thanks for the good idea!

Damn skippy! This is so true. When I lived in Germany back in the day, I used to fly back and forth to conus on Icelandic Air. They had a deal for standby tickets for something like $35.00 one way with a stopover in Reykavic (sp?) Every one of those Icelandic chicks is a certified Goddess :D
