An American RPG ?

Post by Flesh Thorn »

I always wondered why the US doesn't field a RPG type weapon. Looks like someone has developed one. American RPG-7 . I don't think it is a joke. :?

Rather have a goose than an RPG. Much more versatile.

The M3 Carl-Gustaf is, no doubt, an excellent weapon system, but it is cost-prohibitive (i.e. too expensive) for many armies to procure it in large numbers.
I don't know, but the article cites $$$$.

Actually its true, but its being made for our allies, ie ANA and IA. Basically after we started equiping those armies with "Russian" style weapons, it came to notice that when the buy is made it has to be made to certain specs. Long story-short now there is a US made RPG made American copies of Russian specs with some add-ons such as the rail system.

Is there much difference between the old rifle grenades and M203's? Possibly the arming distance in a closer battle which wouldn't allow the 203 the proper amount of yardage?

How would a MARS help with distance / wind correction on an RPG? This is pointless. Looks nice though.

I think the ergonomics look like they kind of suck, but it's a great idea. It's be better than an AT-4.
