This guy was my 1SG in RIP! I mean, shit! If you're a Ranger that served in multiple conflicts, why would you need to lie about ANYTHING??? You've already accomplished more than 99% of everybody else on Earth! I'm not sure if this is BS or what. Anybody have any insights?

I don't know and I really don't have any insight but I do remember him being Charlie co 1SG in 1982-83. He's listed in the yearbook, too. Those days just about all senior NCO's were Vietnam vets so it's kinda hard to believe that he could pull off BS like that.

There's a thread on this man in the Mojo.

Do a search on "Cayton" and you can find it. Several pages long from last year.

He was the ncoic of RIP when i went though as well. He came to Charlie co as 1sg for a very short time. I remember when he came to the company he brought this big, wooden desk. The co and everyone else were using standard, military issue, steel desks. Kinda strange. Something always seemed not quite right with this guy. Just my opinion.

When I was in RIP, the LEGS had some field ex out across Perimeter Road from Sabre Hall. Rumor had it back then that Cayton and Lamica and pulled a covert night op and stole a jeep from the legs...

Anybody else at Sabre Hall have to eat rabbit instead of chicken? That shit was nasty. Heard a rumor about that too, that Cayton and Mess SGT had pocketed the chicken money and replaced the chicken with rabbit.

Anyway, we were all told that Cayton only had 1/2 lung after 'Nam and that he'd been a POW, etc...and if I remember correctly, that Lamica was a merc in Cambodia? I dunno, I was just a cherry medic trying to get to my line company....

Never knew Cayton. Heard the Lamaica/merc/Cambodia/blowgun ambush yarns though.

The article would indicate why he and Don P. were hanging out. Lamica was my 1SG my second tour at Ft Kobbe, Panama. You all know the stories, no need to rip him in public.
