Re: SFC Petry to Retire
SFC Petry, what's the most memorable moment in your career? Well, I was going through RIP, and this mortarman beat me during combatives. But I knew he was real Ranger material then, so I felt good coming in second. I can still feel that choke to this day. In fact, it was the same arm I tried to blo...

Congrats! Few Rangers command the same kind of respect that a Ranger Medic does!

Re: Prep for RASP
Being well rounded is the key. Only doing PT test events will result in you being good at just that - PT test. Unfortunately, that is not the only thing you will face in RASP.

Tread carefully HateTrain. There are men on this site that will have a DIRECT influence on whether you don a tan beret or not. Think about it.

Re: The Scroll and its Lineage.
I, personally, am not a fan of it. But, I no longer argue with LRS guys about it. But, if you look at this link: http://www.history.army.mil/html/forcestruc/lineages/branches/inf/0075ra.htm You will notice your unit is not mentioned. Also, although the Army doesn't recognize them as part of our line...

Re: Financial Aspects
Why do you want a 100k in the bank after you are done with one enlistment? Do you have a specific goal in mind that you want that money for? It's my personal opinion that money just sitting in a bank account doesn't do you a damn bit a good. Now if the goal is to get out and go to an ivy league scho...

Re: Preferred age group
Yeah… PT… it has definitely not suffered due to a bump in age or intelligence. There are a few guys that I put in the army that are in Batt. now, and suffice it to say I am glad that they are not my TL's!

Re: Preferred age group
It should be noted that the age range in Batt. has gone a bit north in the past few years. I would say that the privates are on average at least 20 now, and the 17-19 year old private isn't as common as it once was. I got to 1/75 as a 19 y/o and was one of the youngest in the platoon. All the guys I...

Re: CPT Swenson awarded MOH
I think that maybe his train of thought was that now with the MoH, he will have the clout to influence the change that he sees necessary. Also, he was basically blacklisted after speaking out about how that battle was mishandled from the TOC, and would have never seen any career progression - so wha...

Re: CPT Swenson awarded MOH
I hope he does get back on Active Duty, and I hope he does get promoted to the levels where he can truly effect change. Axe to grind or not, we need more leaders who aren't afraid to say when something is fucked up and also are able to back up their words with action. He is exactly the kind of offic...

Re: The Ranger
As to the shirt, can't wait to get mine! My wife ordered "The Ranger" for me as a Christmas present but apparently couldn't wait to give it to me and dropped it on me tonight! I had no idea she was getting for me. Beautiful work is all I can say! I told her she has to have it framed and m...
