First of all, listen to your body. Don't mess it up and try to be a hard ass. I remember kicking wannabe's out of RIP because of self inflicted injuries. Don't lie to the cadre, or you will really be hurting. See your local witch doctor and get squared away. If you don't have a doctor, I'll be yours...

1st Bat moved to HAAF in 1978. I believe it was Sep-Oct time frame. The RIP Cadre, which was located at Sabre Hall also known as the mole hole at the end of the runway had the detail of DZ party for the Battalions first mass drop onto Rock DZ. The aircraft formation was on final and Rangers were sta...

Welcome to the site. Insure that you do well in your academics. Second, if you have a question try doing a search first. Try to find out things on your own. It is a great character builder.

Guaranteed, Blood, Sweat and Tears. That is the life of an Airborne Ranger. People should not gasp at what he had to say, he was telling the god awful truth. HOOAH.

Is it really true that the EIB is given out if you pass the test in AIT? How difficult is it to earn now? It was once called EVERYBODY IN BATTALION badge, maybe it still is. I know that the whole battalion used to train up for it almost 2 weeks prior to the actual test which is one of the reasons ev...

In the late 70's when RIP started in 1st Bat, you did not have weekends off at all. You were just restricted to Saber Hall at the very end of the runway and performed details that all slugs have to perform. A lot of people did not care for the RIP program at all. The squad leaders and Plt Sgt's want...

Yep, just one more guy from 1st Bat (the original hardcore battalion) and we will have the village people back together again. Couldn't be. The army in its infinite wisdom farmed out all the don't ask don't tell wonder boys to 2nd and 3rd Bat. HEH- HEH. Maybe some of those former don't ask don't tel...

FNG checking in

Finally found some time to sign on here. I'll be glad to post some tid bits of info as need be. Been a long time since I was in 1st Bat making Ranger Manges do pushups when he got out of the rack and before he got in it at night. Power. What the hell good is it if you don't abuse it?
