Re: The GRF (Global Responce Force)
I was.. but it was back in the day. Quick call from your TL/SL ("the balloon has gone up"), grab your stuff and prepare to board a plane. Always have your bag prepped. In your current role in the 82'nd, I'd assume you'd already be prepared for these calls. Maybe not? :? As for the reason f...

Re: Infidels Incorporated - shirt design review
So, when can we start ordering some of these? That last Beer T-Shirt was awesome. I'd love to get one or two in Coyote tan..

Re: Infidels Incorporated - shirt design review
While I like the first shirt depicted, and as somebody else already stated, I would prefer the mortar graphic to be on the rear of the shirt and the Infidels graphic to be on the left front breast (not centered in the middle). I'm very picky about how my T-Shirts are designed, and that's how I prefe...

Re: Who here carries a pistol for personal protection?
I've had my CCW for over 10 years. The wife and I both carry. Fortunately, I've not yet had to brandish. Most situations can be avoided and/or mitigated without the use of a firearm. A good glare seems to work wonders.

Re: Graduated DLI
As you are from West Virginia, I assume you studied English as a foreign language. :D That's funny right there. Not sure why the Army would waste the $ to send you to DLI to learn French, though. "I Surrender" can only be said one way: "Je me rends, s'il vous plaît ne me vis!" A...

Re: Dismount & Convoy Training (A-stan) sought
Cloak: Thanks for the replies. They're still looking for on-site (OCONUS) hands-on training (above and beyond what Ft. Lewis will offer). They're willing to fund if necessary, this training.

Re: Dismount & Convoy Training (A-stan) sought
Updated to add: They're leveraging the CRC at Ft. Lewis, but their CO/XO would like additional hands-on training onsite (OCONUS). They're willing/able to fund this training and would prefer documented/authorized training, but are also happy to have any willing knuckle-draggers that have BTDT train t...

Re: WTF - Ranger Memorial website hacked...
I've reviewed the links/pop-ups. Nothing harmful. I do like the bouncing jugs gal, though. This is a kiddie-hacker crack. They brute-forced (no pun) the password and modified the index.html. Pretty basic hack. The webmaster should know better than to make the admin/root password so simple.

Re: Dismount & Convoy Training (A-stan) sought
They should be going somewhere pre-deployment to certify, which will include train up. They should get plenty then. I don't know if the situation applies to BruteForce's friend, but it is not at all uncommon for big Army to grab a squad sized element of Guard or Reserve (or even a non-deployable Re...

Dismount & Convoy Training (A-stan) sought
I have an NG co-worker prepping for deployment to the 'Stan and he's seeking any contacts that can provide training for (quoted): "Convoy and dismounted for humanitarian aid with high ranking officers". If you know of any OCONUS contacts (companies or individuals) that are qualified to tra...

Re: Who Allowed This !!!???
I am split on this one. On one hand, a 16 year old alone at sea is pretty frightening, but I also agree with rgrokelley.
I think I was more pissed about the new story about the dog grooming that's out of control.
