Welcome Blue Nebus,

If you're going MI, I might bump into you sometime. I suggest you also try to get ahead of the game--map reading, military tactics, insurgent/terrorist tactics, and most important of all: practice paying attention to detail!

Welcome REMF,
When was your first rotation to A-stan? Bagram or Kandahar (or elsewhere)? Just wondering if we've crossed paths. As for myself, I was at Bagram from April-September '02.

Re: Edit

A'stan Jump: 1/505th 82nd, Operation Mountain Lion Also possibly 504th, not too sure, waiting on confirmation from a buddy.... No jumps for the 82d during Mtn Lion... I was there . TF Panther started showing up to replace TF Rakkasan (of the 101st) around July 2002. Mtn Lion was the overall operati...

That ain't fuckin' funny! I just hope the shithead that ran red and rolled his car didn't make it. Yeah, he ran the red big time, the other direction had green for the duration of the video--watch it again. Why does that piss me off so much? I'm stuck crossing a nasty intersection just to get to cla...

I completely agree with Ranger Doc Cook. Especially that neck gaiter, one of the best things the Army ever issued me. If you go somewhere overly cold, I found a good combo for head coverings: neck gaiter--pulled up over the nose, over that the old sleeping hood that came with the old sleeping bag (b...

I haven't fired the Sig yet, but I was able to compare my buddy's USP with my own .45 S&W 99. The USP seemed to be a fairly nice weapon, lightweight, and not too bad of recoil, but I still like my S&W more. The S&W is a bit heavier than the USP, so it doesn't jump as far off-target from ...

Re: Drill Sergants

Is it true that your drill sergant isn't allowed to touch you? I mean slap you around and stuff. Or at least as long as it doesnt leave a mark? Thanks. If you decide to be "Mr. Toughguy" believe me, the D/S will defend him/herself (I'm not combat arms; it's a site to see a 110 lb female D...

Barrett M468 vs. H&K XM8

Barrett recently proposed the M468 to rival H&K's bid to replace the M16. So, what do you think?

Here are a couple articles to get you started:

Bayonets have their value, but they're not meant for pure one-on-one scenarios. One guy with a bayonet has a lower chance of being successful against one guy with a hand or two free. But, when you got multiple buddies going after multiple enemies, things change. A bad guy with hands free can block, ...

mipuke mentioned this site to me...I like what I've seen so far. I'm an MI USAR soldier that got called up post 9/11...served in Afghanistan...missed Anaconda by about a month. If nobody is there to go kill or capture the enemy, our job as MI is kinda pointless, so thank you Rangers and other Shoote...
