They are not spying, the are just gathering massive amounts of personal and private information about you. Someday it will be used to stop a terrorist attack. Of course, you might be the terrorist, and the crime might be owning a slingshot. But we will all be so much safer.

I once worked a case where a single round of .44 magnum created 3 entry and 3 exit wounds in the same victim. She was shot as she scrambled over the back of a couch, round entered and exited right thigh, right forearm and torso, in that order.
