Re: Ranger Recon Company
To echo K. Ingraham, you're not going to get any information on them, and for a good reason. That is an option on a road which might as well be infinitely far away for you.

Re: Post Ranger School Training
I'm not sure if it used to be different back in the day, but at the current time the reenlistment office/NCO himself is not able to explicitly guarantee a school slot of that type with a reenlistment contract. Instead, it's basically a negotiation between you and your platoon/company COC. That being...

I agree with you, but with that being said, do WE need them? Or does the Big Army? The Holmchicken wrote:Bottom line is that we need a tool like the CST/FET. This war is not going to be won with bullets and scorched earth alone, no matter how bad we want to do that.

I guess you guys haven't seen THIS SHIT yet: http://www.soc.mil/CST/CST.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Prepare to have mind blown. Nothing new. When we did the ACRI mission in Africa we had women deploy with our ODA. There were two. One was a dentist and one was a vet...

Graduated Ranger School
Finally. Started Class 09-10, recycled Darby and Florida, and graduated yesterday. Excited to head back to Lewis and rejoin my platoon in the fight.

Re: Going to School
Dang you son of a bitch, beat me to it! Long ways since RIP a year ago, eh?
You're down there with a couple other buddies of mine, and I know you all will kick ass or at least not get your ass kicked. Hopefully next time I see you you'll have your tab! Good luck

Re: Chance of leave after grad?
Typically, from personal experience and those of others, you receive a 4 day pass upon graduation of RIP, but no actual "leave", ie you don't sign a leave form or have days taken out. I've never heard of leave being taken at graduation of RIP. You have the weekend/4 day pass, and then begi...

Re: SUSPENSION TRAINING
I would love to get my hands on some gymnastic rings; I think they might be my favorite single piece of exercise equipment and, IMHO, one of the most versatile. Bodyweight stuff is what I like to do most, though I suppose supplemented with lifting as well, but I have the most fun in my workouts when...

Re: Starting RIP March 2nd...
Good job man! We had an awesome platoon, and it's great that we're both heading to 2/75 because I think we both have good heads on our shoulders. There are a bunch of good guys there from the last class as well.

SITREP
I graduated today from RIP class 05-09. I feel great, ready to move onward and learn everything I can from those who can teach, and glad to have had the experiences that I have had, good and bad.
Thank you Rangers for all the help you have offered, indirectly or not. It did not go unheard :)

Re: Starting RIP March 2nd...
Rangers, Quick update, done with week one! As far as I know, all the guys from this site who started in this class are still there. There have been quite a few med-drops and VW's, but I'm not sure of the exact number. We started with around 300, they ended up splitting us into two classes running s...

Re: Sit Rep
Rangers, so these won't be allowed in RIP? My friend was a Ranger and is now a recruiter due to his baby and said that they should be fine as he wore a pair that he bought when he went through in 2003. http://www.altama.com/Tp1/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=3358" onclick="window.open(this.hre...
