I for one don't give a shit about your history. If you show up to Regiment, start fresh and in the correct manner.

SITREP: 5 Year Retrospective

Someone asked me to do a SITREP, and I found it somewhat difficult to give one on here, especially since it has been about two and a half years since my last update, on my graduation of Ranger School. At the current time, I have been in 2/75 ("The legendary D Co" - President Obama) for jus...

Re: Intro: Jimming

Holy shit, all these kids these days are faster than me (granted, marginally.) I was lucky to run a 15:30 2 mile in high school.

Holy shit again, I remember being 16, in JROTC, and wanting to do what I'm doing now. Seems like a different life.

Re: Plate carriers

The best, most affordable, and most lightweight plate carrier I've seen, and which I wish we could wear, is the Crye JPC (Jumpable Plate Carrier). All the coolest kids wear them, they're very comfortable, are only about 250 dollars (which to me is cheap). My $.02 To facilitate your perusing, here's ...

I've seen an extremely small element (guess who) do an MFF mission within the last couple of years. Watched it on the eye in the sky

Re: The Ruins of Normandy

For anyone interested, D-Day by Antony Beevor is a good book on the topic, as well as Dog Company and The Battalion. The latter two are obviously Ranger specific, but D-Day covers the entire invasion, all forces, and subsequent battles.

Re: DIVE SCHOOL?

The Battalions have plenty of slots for CDQC, whether or not you get to go is an issue between you and your chain of command. I basically reenlisted for it, although I was going to reenlist either way, and I pushed pretty hard with my 1SG and PSG to get all of the arrangements taken care of. To be h...

Re: SMA comments

Look at it this way. The Army can statistically say that XX percentage of those with, for instance, an Op. 40 or 18X contract will fail the pipeline and become subject to "needs of the Army", so they can base their planning and manning around that predictable, historical minimum percentage...

Re: Irish pan fried steak

I wanna give this a shot when I get back. Have just enough Jameson left to use for the recipe (Tullamore Dew is for the drinking.)

Do you think there'd be any real difference with a stainless steel pan?
