Resigning is not necessarily a huge financial sacrifice, anyway. If you've got at least 10 years commissioned service when you do so, you still retire at your highest sucessfully-held commissioned grade.

full range of motion came back a couple months ago. Winning the battle against 6 months of atrophy now, ran Myrtle Beach marathon, slower than I wanted, but fast enough not to be ashamed of it. Swam 600 yards last Friday.
