Re: Boot Selection For RASP (flat feet)

You are allowed to bring any tan desert boot IAW AR 670-1 as long as it doesn't have buckles. Some people have gotten unauthorized boots for use in the field. Just don't ask questions and you'll be okay. Make sure you still have your cold weather boots, too, as they're on the packing list and many p...

Re: SITREP - Adam

Been a while. Not the best news. I didn't make that ruck in time out to Cole Range. Off by about 15 minutes. And well shoot, not last but not good either way. Many people VW'd on the way, and despite pressure from the cadre, those of us that failed didn't quit. Cole Range is basically as about every...

Re: SITREP - Adam

For me, everything this week was a much needed gut check, but if you ask me, it's more important to finish what you start rather than give up and quit. The Doughboy, 5 mile run, and 6 mile ruck were all wake up calls for me. I am not a strong runner, but I'm not the only one. My 5 mile time was 47:0...

Re: SITREP - Adam

Pre-RASP APFT Results:

Pushups: 58
Situps: 64
2 Mile Run: 15:02
Pullups: 6

Worst on situps I've ever done but regardless I passed. Next one is in 4 weeks so that's plenty of time to improve on the run and situps mainly, but I will be doing all I can.

Class up on Monday. Here it comes.

Re: SITREP - Adam

Ranger Jim,

Too many people. Way too many. Enough for two classes that even the overflow barracks aren't enough.

We've our APFT and our final packing layout coming up next week. 10 more days to go...

Re: SITREP - Adam

Ranger Jim and Ranger Steadfast, yeah, I'm not the age to be drinking. Either way, none of us here, 21+ or not, can drink as that's a violation of the rules here. It's been a few weeks now, Pre-RASP is exactly what everyone has said it's been: slow, boring. Sitting on rocks all day, raking and sweep...

Re: SITREP - Adam

Today I got to Pre-RASP. In processed, got my blue book and rules packet. I have 7 weeks until next class, adequate time to get ready. Quite a few from our group have already quit. Time to hold onto my sanity and keep on trucking

Re: SITREP - Adam

UPDATE! Successfully graduated Airborne School and got my wings today. First 3 jumps were good, but my last 2 sucked--not hurt, but I finally know what the feet-ass-head landing feels like. We were really rushing it this week due to weather issues. I head over to Pre-RASP on Tuesday. Just going to b...

Re: SITREP - Adam

Ranger Jim, Currently coming to the end of the 4 day weekend for Memorial Day. Refresher training tomorrow afternoon. We do our first jump on Tuesday. We have 2 jumps scheduled then, 2 on Wednesday, and 1 on Friday, one of which is supposed to be a combat jump, and no night jumps. I'm expected to gr...

SITREP - Adam

Greetings Rangers, fellow members, etc. On 06MAY2015, I graduated my AIT from Fort Gordon with honors - my diploma says Distinguished Graduate, the result of a lot of work and integrity. My time at AIT was tireless and frustrating dealing with peers and others, but now that I became MOS-Qualified (2...

Re: Introduction - Adam

My last known APFT scores:

Pushups: 43
Situps: 78
2 mi. : 14:50

I've been doing a lot to try and improve my pushups and the 2 mile run. I should be taking another PT test soon and I'll go ahead and post the results of that one too when it happens.

Re: Introduction - Adam

Ranger Jim, I come from Northern central California. In high school I was heavily involved in the Army JROTC program and learned a lot from our LTC and Drill Sergeant about the military, how to lead, hide and motivate others, planning, WARNOs, OPORDs, etc. I was a 4.0 GPA for a couple times. And all...

Introduction - Adam

Greetings. My name is Adam, 19 years old, and I am currently in AIT at Fort Gordon in the 25C Course. I enlisted and left for BCT at Fort Jackson last October, and ended up as the Honor Graduate of the Cycle. I also enlisted with Option 40, and should be going to Airborne/RASP within the next few mo...
