Re: Post Ranger School Training
to help answer your question....Ranger school is looked at as a gateway course and the army's premier small unit leader course. period. without going to Ranger school many commanders wont even consider you for further "cool guy" schools. about the only unit that is different about that is ...

Re: Microfracture Knee Repair?
if you're still considering this i'd ask a few questions....what is the extent of the damage? are we talking a tear that's flopped over or are we talking degeneration over an entire meniscus? how old are you? what is your activity level? how willing are you to participate in rehab AND ACTUALLY FOLLO...

Re: Question about Ranger/SF Medic versus Ranger/SF P.A.
18Ds are not PAs while deployed. They do not have the ability to order labs, xrays, and write prescriptions at hospitals in Afghanistan or Iraq. 18D's are the only non-degreed/non-commissioned healthcare provider that has prescriptive authority. as an 18D you will prescribe meds for teammates and i...

Re: Taking plate out of arm
a plate is waiverable. as i said earlier it may require a note from a doctor stating that it's only for additional stability during the healing process. dont be in a huge rush to get it removed prior to the 6-8 month mark. the bones are still calcifying even at that point. if you can get your doc to...

Re: Taking plate out of arm
plates are typically used to reinforce and provide additional strength. after enough time yes it may be possible to remove it however, this typically isn't done unless a screw is backing out or there are other complications due to the fact that you have to go through surgery all over again. you'd be...

Re: Vomiting constantly while running
it could be severe gerd, sinuses, vertigo, hydrogen buildup, a lot of things. if it only happens on exertion i'd be looking at a metabolic condition like hydrogen build up. bottom line is this-has he seen a doc yet? lab draws are going to be needed, along with a full history and maybe even a referra...

Re: What was Ranger School like for you?
lets see memories of Ranger School: holding duffle bags over our heads for god knows how long at the start of RAP week, getting yelled at/smoked by the RI's when my Ranger Buddy and i were on top of the cargo net on the darby queen because we told them we already were Airborne Rangers when they aske...

Re: U.S. Army Ranger School (Videos)
Just watched the videos yesterday. One of my RI's from Florida was doing flutter kicks in the first or second video. We used ASIP's to talk to higher and MBITR's for internal communication. asips....mbitrs....damn...that would've made rucks a lot lighter. we got the big heavy 119's that never worke...

Re: Pre-exposure Rabies Immunization
get the rabies shot ahead of time. rabies is a disease that is easily preventable but 100% fatal once cns signs and symptoms appear. the virus works its way to the nerve and then speeds its way to the brain. sometimes you have a very long time to get the vaccine series depending on where you get bit...

Re: Repeat Sprained ankle
ask your PT or orth doc about doing a subtalor manipulation on you. its a very quick, simple procedure that can help with repeated sprains or a sprain that wont heal. basically your talus, the bone that sits between your tibia and heel (calcaneous) with rotate or sublux, causing instabilty. a subtal...
