I'd add, that also in my opinion, 2 maneuver Bns per Bde is silliness. Fine if the Army wants a full ups Squadron in each Brigade, but don't break the fundamental task org for every mission we teach/train/execute- Support, Breach, Assault. 2 doesn't make 3.

oh wait, for Div Cav to work right, we need to go back to Div. maneuver elements on a contiguous, linear battlefield... So true.... But then again the reconnaissance squadrons we have now are also unbearably short on firepower, personnel and/or with some funky organic structures. Like the 3/5 (brad...

It has taken those guys fucking years to catch up with what you need to do to be successful. Too many of those dudes are stuck with mind set of digging fucking holes and shitting in MRE bag's Ranger RRDTm3, oddly the Gunny from RSLC that was in my PFDR class said similar things, usually finishing w...

Ranger Tenn-RGR, You can learn the same amount of shit from OJT. People just gotta have their pretty badges. Agreed. ...the average joe doesnt need to know how to set up a dropzone for 2 C-130's at night using a double roller CDS on a CARP drop. True. However assuming that SKE is not in use, and the...

Possible combination of PFDR with RSLC

Rangers, and gents, i just finished up PFDR yesterday with Marine GySgt ****** (from RSLC) and we talked a couple of times during the course about the rumors floating around Building Snore that have Pathfinder getting folded in RSLC at some point. Clearly it is not a near term thing, nor anything se...

Well the only time I used Ranger msg_dman's name was when I had used it to quote him in saying "Ranger msg_dman wrote:" and I did put Ranger in.... I'm just confused because I never addressed Ranger msg_dman incorrectly. I did my reading of the FAQ's first and never addressed Ranger msg_d...

Rangers, and esteemed brothers and sisters, thanks for the welcome. Ranger KH, don't worry, with you on the trail, I rather have the 10 of the meanest RIs smoking my bags- it would probably be more pleasant than passing up another shot. Oh, and the Ranger handbook is in my cargo pocket everywhere I ...

Ranger Mac, points taken and I understand clearly your viewpoint. If you think for one second that your platoon's lives were at stake if they were under the care of anyone else, a PL is not BII, more like AAL.;) The Army doesn't feel that your time as a platoon leader is absolutely essential for tha...
