Re: Ferguson, MO
Don't go looting and expect the police not to show up. Isn't that one of the main reasons we have police? To maintain good order and a safe environment? That being said, I do wonder if the LEO in question needed to shoot the guy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not loosing any sleep over it, but I wonder if...

Re: Reclassing to 12B applying for Regiment
11B's man all the dog handler positions, and 11B's do all their own breaching/explosives stuff. Anything that is beyond their skill set, would/could only be handled by an actual EOD guy. It should be noted that not much is outside the skill set of a Ranger platoon when it comes to explosives. I have...

Re: Going on a trip...
Just got back, good to be home! Thank you to everyone who supported us - monetarily or otherwise. We couldn't have gotten as far as we did without you. I have a lot to say about this trip, more to follow! Oh, and we raised in excess of 20k for Gallant Few!

Re: Going on a trip...
We are taking off tomorrow at midnight, finalizing my pack right now. We'll be headed east from Denver, with the intent of reaching NYC within 12 days. We'll be posting updates as we go on the various Blackside Concepts social media platforms, if we make it to your AO, we won't turn down a ride, san...

Re: Going on a trip...
We are starting in Denver, and going east as hard and fast as we can. We aren't using PayPal, but just straight credit/debit card will work (assuming you trust that). It works the same as if you were doing any other online shopping. As far as a snail-mail donation, I don't want to turn you down, but...

Re: Keeping EMT
I got to go to the 3 week EMT-B crash course battalion offered back in February. Passed the test and got certified. I actually learned a lot in three weeks plus the additional week of tac-med run by the medics. But like Goon said every Ranger is expected to perform RFR, which is why they're not sen...

Re: Keeping EMT
While I was there, (06-10), many 11B E-4's/E-5's would go to EMT-I. Nobody really messed around with EMT-B because every Ranger had to be RFR certified.

Re: US Army testing new jungle boots
I don't think it's possibly to make a jungle boot better than THE Jungle Boots. Although I only got to wear them for a short period of time before the transition to ACU's/desert boots... they were awesome, and I would wear them again in a heart beat. If the Army is developing this new pair of jungle...

Re: Adding Option 40 and USAREC Form 1035
Ranger goon175, I hope I have not come across as unappreciative regarding all the information that has been provided to me by members of this forum. I understand, though perhaps not as fully as I should, that I am not entitled to having any of my questions answered, and that no one here has any obl...

Re: Adding Option 40 and USAREC Form 1035
Damn, you DEP's don't know how lucky you are to be on a website that has a former Ranger turned recruiter, current MEPS Guidance Counselor, and the HRC's 75th RR Liaison available to answer questions and set you straight. 99% of the kids trying to get an opt 40 only dream about this kind of access. ...

Re: This cracked me up
I don't know a single Ranger who doesn't have at least one really good "SEAL" story. Unfortunately, there are also quite a few Rangers whose SEAL stories do not have a laughable outcome.

Re: Thoughts on preparing for RASP
Excellent advice. You can be the most prepared guy in the world, but if you haven't done mobility work to make yourself less injury-prone, then you are rolling the dice. Do some yoga, look at some Kelly Starret videos, use that foam roller and lacrosse ball religiously, etc. If I knew then what I kn...
