Happy 4th of July and Thanks.
First, no matter where you are or what you are doing on July 4th, thanks. Whether you are home sipping a cold one, in the states pulling shitty duty on some backwater base or out in the badlands of a remote FOB. Whether you are currently in the battle or have long since physically left it. Thanks fo...

An Africa Command (AFRICOM) spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday that since NATO’s Operation Unified Protector (OUP) took over from the American-led Operation Odyssey Dawn on March 31, the U.S. military has flown hundreds of strike sorties. Just before his junior year at West Point, Dimitri del Castillo's father asked him if he understood what his return to the military academy would require. "I asked him if he knew what that meant — that you commit," Carlos del Castillo said. His son was 19. "He said yes. He knew the r...

I can't say first-hand. But my guess is if you stay in the sandbox there should be plenty of work for a "bush pilot".RangerBob275 wrote:Bush pilot, I'd like to be one, but since women are trimming a lot more, I'd hate to be stuck in a job without a future.

Re: Optics
Here's a question since it was mentioned earlier- why do people put an extra red dot on top or at an angle on their Acog? I thought the whole purpose of the Bindon Aiming Concept was to be able to engage near and far with both eyes open off of one optic? It seems to me that having to break my cheek...

Re: Optics
Quick follow up; two were posted today on AR15.com Equipment Exchange, under optics. The one Trijicon I mentioned used for $875 and a TA01NSN (only mounted) for about the same.

Re: Optics
You had me worried the way you phrased that "ACOG, back in the day" statement. It made me feel old or out of touch. I have said it before, but I have the . Trijicon ACOG - TA31RCO-M4CP Don't let the listed price scare you. They can be picked up new or used in good condition for a lot less....

Re: Jon Huntsman’s Stolen Valor Spokesdouche
What really burns my behind is that even in an "apology" these guys look for empathy with this standard line from the Stolen Valor Handbook; "Well, I told the initial lie and then didn't know how to get out of it, so I built on the lie some more" (until he got caught, of course)....

Re: U.S. Envoy Rebukes Karzai
Never been there. But bought a lightly used bag from a guy that was deployed. Until now, I never knew why it created a dust cloud when I tossed it in the closet. I was thinking- "cripes, he said A-stan not Iraq". Who knew? I thought it was on top of his car driving down 40 from San Bernadi...

CM901/SP901
Just curious, has anyone had a chance to use this Colt yet? It looks pretty promising. SP901 I spoke with someone from Colt who said it probably will not be priced/out in the market until early fall. It's pretty interesting that the SP901 will also adapt to a standard 5.56 upper Here are the specifi...
