Re: SITREP-Dcal7
Thank you Ranger Jim, I also have a question. My platoon sergeant says he's "working with us" (me and the other few guys trying to get a slot) and is going to give us a PT test at the end of cycle but he has never given us a packet to fill out. I always heard that there's a packet you fill...

Rangers- I have six weeks left here at Fort Sam in 68W AIT. I just got my PT up to what should be a 325 (haven't gotten the official score back yet) and am at the top of my class with respect to GPA. I'll be participating in the Best Warrior competition here. I don't have an Opt 40 but do have airbo...

Re: Introduction-Doug
SITREP (posted here since I'm not yet in Basic): I recently took my first PT diagnostics test with my recruiter. I got 75 pushups, 74 situps and 13:20 run. We of course didn't do pull-ups but I know I can at least do 12 because that's what I start my pull up work out with. Still sub-par for Rangers,...

Re: Introduction-Doug
Rangers, I just signed with a 68W Opt 4 with the plan to volunteer for Rangers while in AIT. If anyone has any advice on how to better prepare myself for success at AIT (things to study) to increase my chances of getting accepted to try out for the Rangers at RASP, it is very much appreciated. Thank...

Re: 68w option 40
Ranger RngrDoc75,
You said that bmahler's education would get him a waiver to submit the volunteer packet early, is this because he will have a graduate degree or will a BA work for the waiver as well?
Thank You,
Doug

Re: Recruitment Question
Rangers, I also am looking for a 68W Opt 40 and have not been able to find one yet. I know that you can volunteer while in AIT to try out for Ranger Medic (saw the application on the Regiment's website and Ranger Recruiter told me the same). If I were to take that route, do I have to hope that there...

Re: Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) Course
Rangers,
I wanted to thank all the Rangers for providing the information that they have provided. Particularly Ranger RngrDoc75 as I am currently searching for an Option 40 68w and the information he has provided on this thread has been incredibly helpful.
Thank You,
Doug

Re: Introduction-Doug
Rangers, One of the main reasons that I wanted to join was because I have language skills. I speak Spanish and have studied German. I have a deep interest in languages and thought that I could learn Pashto and use it to help the mission in Afghanistan. However, from what I understand of the Rangers,...

Rangers, My name is Doug, I'm 22 years old and a college graduate. I am currently a teacher in Mexico and have been for the past year. Rather than taking a job in the United States, I have decided to enlist in the Army with an Option 40 to join the Rangers. I have always been interested in the milit...
