Re: Rest In Peace, Troopers
RIP troopers. Sidenote: all you LEO's and firefighters here have reminded me how, in our own disfuntional way, we are all family. Like the active duty soldiers I meet, lately I have come to make it a point to also thank the LEO's, EMS, and figherfighters I encounter for their service. They are your...

Re: Rest In Peace, Troopers
My son has been a police officer for 10 years. I have served as a reserve deputy and officer. I have learned a great deal of understanding and respect for law enforcement. The person on the street will never fully know or appriciate what these people go through, in order to perform their civil dutie...

Re: Random thought of the moment.
We in this country, in this generation, are by destiny rather than choise the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask therefore that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, that we may achieve in time and for all time the ...

Re: Repeat Sprained ankle
shootingman99, I injured my ankle, during a cross country race. I came down on it wrong; and inverted my foot so badly that i broke a bone in my foot. However, bones heal....not so well as tendons and muscles. I also had a very weak ankle, and even reinjured it. It was because of this 2nd injury tha...

Re: 1st of many humourous, odd. or strange things in my past
It was the end of an 8-month ARTEP; and we were breaking camp for the very last time. It had been raining (as usual); but we were happily scrurrying around in our muddy quagmire. Then there came the faint sounds of the Huey; getting closer and closer. Then there it was; hovering into its LZ while th...
