Re: Sometimes dashboard cameras are a bad idea

Norm, I believe that the attempted murder charge was because he drove at, and hit an officer putting stop sticks out. It was bull shit the way they were fired. What was funny was the City attorney coming on and saying that it was text book police work, except for the last 11 seconds.

Re: Obama greets Ranger

That 'Ranger' is a NO GO. Looks like he is wearing an SF ball cap. And a Sergeant Major. Wonder why he wasn't wearing his MOH also.

Re: Lighter Fighters Sent To Afghanistan

The regular foot soldier's equipment might be lighter, but I'll bet the amount of weight he carries will stay the same. He will just be able to carry more stuff.

He has been a republican in name only, for a very long time. Every time it comes to a tough decision he is the first to break ranks.

Re: M4 ballistics question

The documentation posted explains my reasoning. If you are zeroed at 50. You are going to be well withing 2 inches at 200 yds. and just over an inch at 25 yds. When speaking of a patrol rifle, in law enforcement deployments that is more then adequate. If you can put the round within 2 inches of cent...

Re: M4 ballistics question

The reason that LE zeros the patrol rifle at 50 yds., is that very few shots will be outside of 100 yds. and more likely well within 50 yds. As a police officer we have to account for all of our rounds. To have collateral damage as a police officer, is liability wise not good. A 50 yds zero, puts al...

Re: Burris Scopes?

I know that unicorn picture came from your personal collection Norm. I forget sometimes when it comes to this stuff. I'm so used to getting the dept. to buy everything. I haven't bought a box of ammo in 19 years. If I were going to spend my 'own' money, I'd go with the Burris. i'd still go for the 6...

Re: Burris Scopes?

Hey, being an RTO got me into Ranger School quicker then normal. I went to Sniper MTT as well. We didn't get to do much Sniper training back then. Cpt. Morehouse had us in the field doing Movement to Contact live fires every week. The illuminated reticle is nice. I'd see if you can try somebody's ju...

it is hard to get loaded ammunition down here also, everyone is sold out, and you have to call the stores daily to see if they get their shipments in.

Re: Burris Scopes?

If you stay with Burris, for $40 bucks more, get the 6-24 power. A burris is going to be about 600 less then the comparable Leupold Mk V- Tactical, which is also an excellent choice. Mortgage the house and get the Schmidt & Bender, for about $3K.lol When it comes to a long gun, any extra money y...

Re: Old(er) Ranger Gear

My PD was able to purchase M14, still in the original packing paper a couple years ago, along with M16A1's. Just picked up AN-PVS 5's too. Look just like the ones we had back in Batt. back in 84. They have upgraded the tubes and converted them to AA batteries though.
