Re: First ones on the ground in Operation Urgent Fury?

You see I knew I was right when I posted that you were Carpenter's static line safety. PAC Man PM'ed me that you were his! Sorry for the screw-up. PS Has Wilburn ever forgiven you for mashing him up against the side of the A/C while you were trying to get back to the door? It was MY screw up, Mooch...

Re: First ones on the ground in Operation Urgent Fury?

I look at Grenada as the last of the "old school" type of invasions. There were night vision devices, but they were few and far between. I think only our platoon leader had one, and I'm not sure about that. There was no body armor, except for the old flak jackets the Marines carried. Thou...

Re: speedyrooster - intro

Welcome, JC Vet. It's amazing how many "80's era" Rangers have jumped on board during the short time I've been a member.

Re: First ones on the ground in Operation Urgent Fury?

1/75 jumped ahead of 2/75 if that's what you're asking (not that it matters for much). I saw no MP's there. Wish I did though--- could have used some protection!

I like your objective self-critique---- seems like you are refraining from filling yourself with BS like so many young, blow-hards do. A good first step in sustaining improvement.

Never mind the comment about 1st Batt-- the 2/75 guys know all about that by being up there in Seattle and all....

LEARN the mission, then tailor yourself to fit it-- it will NOT happen the other way around, I can assure you! A Ranger unit requires stamina and endurance. I can't begin to count how often I saw guys who were studs with weights fall like flies all around me because they didn't understand that! Trai...
