Re: Ammo... WHere to buy and what to get
Ranger 3/75 land warrior: Some good online retailers: Aimsurplus.com (good prices on surplus, remanufactured, and wolf/Russian ammo) Wideners.com MidwayUSA.com (very wide selection of ammo, decent prices, and great service) If you're looking for absolute precision (and terminal performance), it's ha...

Re: DCLT vs. Airborne school for an ROTC Cadet
I never had a cadet when I was a LT nor did I get to do the program. I've seen it around and heard about it. That will give you the most insight into the Army since it actually is FORSCOM and not a TRADOC unit. If you go to CTLT with ABN under your belt at an ABN unit you might get some jumps. If y...

Re: DCLT vs. Airborne school for an ROTC Cadet
HALO and RANGER aren't going to happen. I know other CPTs with SCUBA from their ROTC days. 3 or 4 of them actually. Good luck. Ranger Grumble, Yes, I knew HALO was a total pipe dream. I will make sure to ask around with the Cadre at LDAC if any SCUBA slots are available. What do you think of the CT...

Re: DCLT vs. Airborne school for an ROTC Cadet
Ranger Grumble and Grunt, Thanks for bringing up the risk factor of DCLT - it could not turn out to be beneficial at all. I've been thinking of it in the ideal context, and as you said and I now realize, chances are that won't materialize. To answer your question, I need to best prepare myself to le...

DCLT vs. Airborne school for an ROTC Cadet
Rangers, I'm a contracted MS3 cadet heading to LDAC this summer. I joined ROTC and attended LTC last summer. I want to attend follow on training after LDAC and I'm looking for your advice on which to choose. My main options are: -DCLT: Drill Cadet Leadership Training; following LDAC you attend a 1 w...

Re: FNAR
Ranger Wyld3man,
I'd be really curious to find out what you think of that FNAR after getting it to the range. I've seen quite a few ads for that rifle but haven't heard any unbiased (non-gun rag) end user feedback yet.
Are the mags proprietary?

Re: My "new" AR-15's [lots of pictures/56K warning]
TC204,
I don't use the BDC. I have my own drop table built in MOA and use the reticle based system for hold over (it's my 3 gun rifle, so I'm not putting clicks in on the fly).
I bought the scope used, I need to pick up a 5.56mm knob just so it'll be right.

Re: My "new" AR-15's [lots of pictures/56K warning]
Anyone have any feedback on the Docter(sp?) sights that can be mounted above the ACOG for CQB/close range shooting? BTW, nice looking set-up you got there! Ranger JLTW, Thanks for the compliment on the weapons. I think buddying a Doctor optic to the ACOG is one of the better options for trying to c...

Re: My "new" AR-15's [lots of pictures/56K warning]
I'm curious as to the micro Aimpoint ? I've been so used to the CompM2/M3 that I can't imagine a smaller optic. How do you like and what advantages do you see in it ? Gotta love the LaRue mounts for your hi-power glass !!!! 8) I love the micro. Here's the breakdown on how I feel about it: Pro's: 1....

Ranger Zonk,
If you're looking for another lower flag to fly, I think this one might, both in its message and its history, might fit the bill:

U.S. Pledges $900 Million in Aid to Gaza
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29352401/ Secretary of State Clinton (barf) wants to give $900 million to Gaza. I'd say that I hope Congress or the President would shoot this one day, but the way things are going, I'm doubting there is much hope on that front. I mean, fuck, we're financing both sides o...

Like throwing a rabbit to the dogs; found some posers.
Rangers, A thread on a firearms forum that I frequent is outing a few Ranger/Special Forces posers. It's some absolutely jacked up security company (to the point that I question if it's a joke, but evidently it's not) where all the employees are claiming to be Rangers/SF and the like. We have everyt...

Re: Movie Reviews
Just got back from Gran Torino, and like everyone else, I liked it a lot....there were some great one liners in there too  Ranger JLTW, In the last scene (not going to post spoiler about context of scene, but you know what I'm talking about) where Clint spells out the stipulations regarding th...
