Air Force to stop searching for pilot's body
http://www.kens5.com/home/San-Antonio-widow-asks-Air-Force-not-to-give-up-search-for-pilots-body-in-Iraq-138908044.html I imagine stopping the search has to do with pulling out of Iraq. Negotiating the pullout should have had the condition that the Iraqis hand over the body or we stay until they do...

Re: OSUT and Combatives
I've haven't been around Infantry OSUT since 08, but then only a select few got the chance to certify as level 1, complete with the punch drill and all. It may have expanded to allowing all trainees the chance the certify level 1. I can say with certainty that there is no level 2 or 3 in OSUT. The r...

Re: New Guy, Sean.
Sean, If your desire is to get into the fight soon, enlisting is the quickest route. Even if you could start basic training today with an OCS contract, you are looking at 2 months of basic training, 3 months of OCS, 4 months of IOBC (if branched Infantry), a month (3 weeks) at Airborne, and 2 months...

Re: Introduction
I made a ton of calls from the Mountain phase, unfortunately they were from a hospital room. Recycling Mountains sucks, but hopefully he can get out of there before winter hits full force. He will have a better chance of passing the second time around since he knows what to expect, plus recycles eat...

Re: Intro - John
Decent PT stats until I saw the last one. Was that a 2 Mile Run or 2 Mile Ruck? There is a lot of information on here about improving run times.

Re: From Vietnam To 9/11, Remembering A True Hero
That is a great book. It talks about his time in Rhodesia, which is skipped over in a lot of his short bios. He was a combat vet before he was an Infantry LT in the Ia Drang with 1st Cav.

Knights of Heroes - great charity
I want to get the word out about a great charity group my brother founded about four years ago. http://www.knightsofheroes.org/ It is an annual camp for boys who have lost their father in Iraq or Afghanistan. It started with just a handful of kids and this year there are over 40 kids attending. The ...

Re: Camp Merrill
The link below goes to some pictures from Mountain Phase I uploaded to the gallery, hopefully I did it right. They are not the greatest pics, but the best I could do at the time with a contraband camera. I found it in the woods during one of the first cadre-led patrols. It was apparently lost by som...
