Re: Introduction - Dan

Well, as it turns out that being a Ranger is probably not an option for me. The surgery they have to do would require them to put screws in my hip to hold it in place (which probably disqualifies me from airborne), there would be an extensive recovery time, and if I want to keep healthy hips, I prob...

Introduction - Dan

Hello, my name is Dan and I'm 18 year's old. This isn't my first time posting on this site, but it's been a while. Plus, I wasn't sure where else to post this information. Anyway, I just graduated the Alaska Military Youth Academy (one of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe programs; probably one of ...

Re: Puke PT

This is an issue I've had too. It is not uncommon for me to puke or (more commonly) dry heave after a very intense cardio workout. Not normally long runs (though it has happened, but only when I drank too much water too close to running), but especially during real high intensity cardio workouts lik...

Push-up form check

Hello Rangers. I have posted this picture of the starting, middle, and ending positions of my push-up for your criticism and feedback. The only issue I have noticed is that my butt seems a bit high especially at the bottom, but I didn't know if this just might be the natural curvature of my lumbar. ...

Re: Elbows on push-ups

You might be recognizing a weakness. The tighter that the elbows are in to the body the more you are focusing on triceps, while hands wider out is focusing more on the chest……….. Work on both? Elevate your feet to add resistance and hit the muscles from additional angles… This sounds good. So maybe...

Re: RIP Instructors are weeding em' out fast!!!

What are the chances of actually getting "booted"? I was under the impression that as long as you didn't quit you would make it to the end, and whether you passed or not would just depend on your test scores.

Re: Elbows on push-ups

Thank you for your responses Rangers Flesh Thorn and Holm Chicken. One person told me that if I want to be a Ranger I should start doing my push-ups with elbows straight back and eyes forward...but they were not a Ranger (Infantry I believe).

Elbows on push-ups

Hello Rangers. When I don push-ups in the way that feels most natural to me, without thinking about my elbows, they generally go mostly back, but poke out to the side a little. I realized that when I hug my elbows to my side it makes them much harder than when I just let them poke out naturally. My ...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

I'm sorry that I missed my post last week Rangers, I was very busy preparing for my black belt test in Taekwondo, and was more focused on that than on my push up program. Anyway, this program doesn't seem to be working for me, it seems to expect a large amount of muscle growth between each day, and ...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

Well, I have tried twice this week to complete Week 2 day 1, and failed. It seems that I have had to repeat some of the days 1 or 2 times before I can get them, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the program just expects an unrealistic amount of improvement between days and weeks. Anywa...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

Well, this week I have a taekwondo camp. We do lots of running, push-ups, etc. there, plus our martial arts training. I'll get back to my regular routine next week. Thanks for your help and motivation Rangers.

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

I thought shoveling dirt all day long was plenty of exercise, but apparently not for YOU PEOPLE! Joking, you have a good point Ranger Ranger Bill, I should've pushed on and done them. I'll knock off those push-ups today. ninjaman out. EDIT: I just finished week 1 day 3. 12 reps rest 2 min, 15 reps r...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

I successfully completed week one, day one of the hundred pushups program. 10 reps, rest 1 min, 12 reps rest 1 min, 7 reps rest 1 min, 7 reps rest 1 min, max (at least 9) I did 10. I started out wide arm knuckle push-ups, then regular width knuckle push-ups, then regular width flathanded the last 3 ...
