Re: belgian ex Para Commando

In 1965, I was a member of the 1st Bn, 19th Infantry, 24th Infantry Division stationed in Augsburg, Germany. We had monthly alerts but on several of them we didn't respond to our predetermined alert site. We would go to the German Air Force Base at Firstenfelbruck and board C-130s and deploy as the ...

Tyler,

Some how I guess you posted in the wrong Introduction Forum... If I were you, I'd read the rules really, really quick and re-post in the proper place.

My brother was a NRA Life member. He died last February (2007) and I still receive 3-5 mailings addressed to him each month. All of them request $$ & None of them have phone #s.

I've written to try to get them to stop the mailings and now I'm on their mailing list!

There are some colleges that give credit for military schools (not Infantry or Ranger, however). I received 16 semester credits for DLI You can acquire some college credit for College Level Equivelency Program (CLEP) exams, but it is up to the college as to what CLEP scores that they will accept. Wh...

from 1972 until 2000 I was rated at 10% disabled by the V.A. I had received six Purple Hearts and several other valor medals. In 2000, I headed the Census 2000 efforts in two counties that contained eight military bases. One of the people that I hired to enumerate the military bases and I were talki...

Hi, Then all the Rangers here that have RS class in their signature line but have no Ranger Bn listed are really Ranger "Qualified" and not actual Rangers and to be an Airborne Ranger and not just Ranger Qualified you have to serve in Ranger Bn. Guess that is why even though a soldier gra...

I passed all of the airbourne physical except for the part about joint tenderness/restricted mobility.
I suggest that if you're going to be one, you learn to spell it:

It's A-I-R-B-O-R-N-E!

Perhaps your dad was thinking of a .30 caliber MG. There is a barrel changing capability with the M1919A6. There is none with the B.A.R..

I've used both in combat and I wouldn't choose either again.

Mike
