Well I'll probably be with internet access for awhile after I'm put in a hotel today so I wanted to thank the creators and maintainers of the board/site.
Also thanks to those who contribute (Rangers or otherwise) and put up with DEPs and wannabees like me when its really the Rangers' board.

Influences
Heres one, well actually two.
Is there and difference (technique-wise) between what you learn at BCT/AIT involving hand-to-hand and what you learn in the Regiment? Also, what would you say are the main influences of the skills taught?

One of my grandfathers was drafted and served in the Korean war with the Marines, he says he did recon. His son, my uncle, was also a Marine more recently, was in Somalia back when there were U.S. forces there. Other than that, I don't know if I had a warlord or footsoldier for a great great great g...

Better yet, duct-tape 'em to those wooden posts on the bayonet range during training day. Tell the unit in training t...

A guy posted saying he would rather be an 11B sometime back, here was the response from Ranger Plavney, What's wrong with being an 11C? You're still in the Infantry right? You're still going to RIP and Airborne right? Your still getting the best training and skills the Army has to offer right? Don't...

I know many of the recruiters in at my station have done more than 4 years of college and are still enlisted (not officers). The former station commander, enlisted infantry, had or was going for his Doctorate I believe. Its possible to be qualified for both Ranger and SF. Having a tab only means you...
