Has anyone ever used or heard anything good or bad about the AR500 plates? The question to ask is what will be the purpose of the plates? I am issued 5.11 crap for work. Their jackets are bulky and heavy. Like Tenn Ranger said, skip REI or any retailer for that matter and go straight to the source for any higher end jackets or gear. They usually offer kick ass deals for gov and mil types.
