I remember that deployment. I got to spend all of my free time in the barracks singing prisoner work songs because our platoon taped and ties two supply guys. Good times.

Thanks for the prayers and all, but I'm still here. Still on alert though. this is lame. The bumped ud drill to last weekend and then finals have been this week, so I've been busy. Transfer those prayers to the boys at the front. It's hard to get those tapes when no one's around, if you know what I ...

AIT won't teach you shit. In my opinion it was a waste of time because there is nothing advanced about it. It seemed to me that my DI's primary instruction was not to teach us anything because "your unit will teach you that." ARMY basic training is a fucking joke. What good is it that they...

If you are looking at buying your own personal "rack", I recommend the version made by Tactical Tailor. We used 'em when I was in before the official "RACK" came out. It's a sturdy design, durable, and best of all (relatively) affordable. For about $170 you can get a complete T. ...

As I said: Ranger Body Armor. I can't make it any clearer. If you want to look at it, go to your copy of "Blackhawk Down" and look at the picture section. I don't know where to find it on the web, but why does it matter...you can't buy it.

I think these anti-war protestors need a taste of their own medicine. Why aren't more people who support the war making their views known. For example: If there is an anti-war protest scheduled, why not organize a pro-war / pro-troops movement. Let you views be known. Use signs, bumper-stickers, pin...

While you will learn the basics at both Ranger School as well as Battalion, you will focus more on combatives while in Battalion. From my experience, knife training isn't focused on too extensively at either place, however, the basics are tought. There's a reason for that. Your chances of knife figh...

No, Regimant does not use that. That is only designed to protect you from fragments, not bullets. R.B.A. (Ranger Body Armor) uses ceramic plates covered in kevlar to stop bullets. Usually only the main vest is used, so no, no neck protection.

Hey Happy, I was down at Batt. today and asked about those tapes. they are still available through S-5. They'll burn a copy if you provide a tape. I didn't have any spares with me (why would I?) but I could probably get one made up if you really want it.

You could mow the lawn, clean latrines, and sort brass. Maybe they could put you in a cart with a 240 and pull you around the objective...or attach you to the skid of a little bird.

You train!...and I'm not talking about with fat chicks, although fat girls need love too. Ambushes, raids, recons, CQB, airfield siezures, Patroling, medical training, land nav, weapons mastery, combatives, leadership. You learn your job. Your team leaders, whether you realize it or not, will be get...

We had a dude in ranger school loose one of his shoes about halfway through the five mile run. He made the run...even got some B.S. award from 4th RTB for not giving up.
....I wonder if he passed knots in mountains?
